MEXICALI, Mex. - Two drug dealers based in Tijuana were arrested in Mexicali over the weekend.
Mexican authorities identified the two men as Vicente Escobar Rodriguez and Gilberto Leyva.
Mexicali Police says both suspects work for an incarcerated drug lord by the name of Raydel Lopez Uriarte, also known as "El Muletas."
They say after an investigation, they got word that both men were in Mexicali and were able to locate Rodriguez driving a grey BMW. The 27-year-old first gave police a wrong name but after running his finger prints, police was able to identify him. Rodriguez also told police the whereabouts of his partner.
Soon after police located Leyva at a residence in Mexicali and were able to recover firearms. Mexicali police say both men confessed they were drug dealers for "El Muletas."
