Police Capt. Horace Frank says 5 of the people were arrested Thursday for refusing to disperse as they blocked an intersection, 4 of them illegal immigrants, including two 17-year-olds.
One woman was arrested for the alleged battery of a firefighter.
About 30 people took part in the demonstration, and police say they did not have a protest permit.
They rallied in favor of the Trust Act, which has passed the legislature and awaits the signature of Gov. Jerry Brown. It limits local law enforcement's participation in a federal program to check the immigration status of people who are arrested.
