Castellini Company LLC is recalling certain jalapeno peppers distributed from its Wilder, Kentucky facility because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The Medicines Company's supplier, Eagle Pharmaceuticals Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of all four (4) lots of Argatroban Injection, 50 mg per 50 mL ("Argatroban") from the market due to a potential for visible particulates. The Medicines Company has not received any reports of adverse events related to this issue. However, due to the possible presence of visible particulates there is a risk of embolization/infarction to organs with potential organ complications.

Cargill Animal Nutrition today announced a voluntary and limited regional recall of Nutrena NatureWise Goat Pellets due to an error in labeling. The bags of affected goat feed should have indicated that the feed included Decoquinate, a medicated article for the prevention of coccidiossis that is commonly included in ruminant feed, but which is not approved for lactating goats.
