Yuma, AZ
- Friday night there will be a memorial service and procession in honor
of Anthony Ramon Polk, a firefighter for the Quechan Tribe. He died
while in route to a fire last weekend near Sells, AZ when his fire truck
rolled over in steep terrain. The City of Yuma is advising there will
could be some disruption to traffic Friday in the 7 p.m. hour between
the 16th Street/4th Avenue intersection and 4th Avenue north to 1st Street.
Motorists will not be able to cross 4th Avenue between 1st and 16th streets during the procession, most notably at 8th Street, 3rd Street/Giss Parkway, and at 1st Street, unless directed by officers who will provide on-site traffic control for the procession.
The procession route includes 1st Street heading eastbound from 4th Avenue, with all vehicles except fire engines crossing the Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge.
