Brand New Energy ("BNE"), dietary supplement re-sale distributor, is recalling all lot codes of EphBurn 25. The recall was initiated on August 28, 2012, after notification by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to a third-party retailer which purchased EphBurn 25 that one lot of EphBurn 25 was sampled by the FDA and found to contain ephedrine alkaloids, making it an unapproved drug.

World Foods, LLC is initiating a voluntary, precautionary recall on various products it distributes to retail supermarkets that contain mangoes associated with the Splendid Products recall of Daniella Brand Mangoes with the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Today BI-LO announced an immediate voluntary recall on whole Daniella brand mangoes sold with a universal product code (UPC) of 0-00000-04051 in stores between July 12 and Aug. 27, 2012. The recalled mangoes, a product of Mexico, were sold as individual fruit and can be identified by the Daniella brand sticker.

Respironics California, Inc., a division of Philips Healthcare announced today that it has completed notifying its United States customers of a voluntary recall of 116 Respironics V60 Ventilators in the United States and has confirmed that 33 have already been updated. The recall was initiated on July 31, 2012 to address a manufacturing issue that may have affected these ventilators.

Cucina Fresca Gourmet Foods, a leading producer of natural gourmet foods for retail and foodservice, recently conducted an audit of its packaged goods products and found an error on the labels of 58 cases of shelf-stable 24-ounce Cucina Fresca Smoked Tomato Sauce in glass jars, resulting in a need to recall the mislabeled packages from select Pacific Northwest Whole Foods and Quality Food Center locations in Oregon and Washington states (lot# 11002A and 11002B). The Cucina Fresca Smoked Tomato labeled jars actually contain Cucina Fresca Tomato Vodka Sauce, which contains milk as an ingredient.

On August 17, 2012, Protica Inc. of Whitehall, PA had undertaken a voluntary product withdrawal of four products including Body Choice "Protein Shots", Nutritional Resources "Protein Wave", ProBalance "Protein to Go French Vanilla Latte" and "Protein to Go Milk Chocolate Shake" because they have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled.
