Don't Cross Here
At least six suspected criminals were killed and one other
was wounded in a shootout in the western Mexican state of Jalisco,
officials said.
The Jalisco Attorney General’s Office and state police said the clash
occurred Friday afternoon on the Guadalajara-Tequila highway, where an
armed commando attacked a group of men riding in several vehicles. After the shootout involving automatic rifles and grenades, the aggressors fled in the direction of the neighboring state of Nayarit.
Several vehicles, including a motorcycle and a charred van with three bodies inside, were found at the scene.
Authorities said they suspect the shootout pitted organized crime gangs because a grenade launcher and several rifles and handguns were found inside the vehicles.
