More security and law enforcement have been added to the Calexico ports of entry due to an unconfirmed threat, according Customs and Border Protection officials.
CBP supervisor John Campos says they received information Wednesday relating to a threat on the Mexican side of the Calexico port of entry.
He says out of an abundant of caution, CBP deployed additional law enforcement resources to ensure the safety of people traveling through the port of entry along with personnel in and around it.
Campos says they are working closely with state, local, and federal law enforcement officials and with the Government of Mexico.
CBP is asking the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
