MEXICALI, Mex. - A deputy for the Superior Court in Mexicali was shot outside his home last night.
Ernesto Flores Gallego says a man knocked on his front door and asked for a man by the name of "Crispin" before opening fire. Gallego says he did not recognize the man.
The deputy was shot twice in the arm and chest. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non- life threatening wounds.
Gallego says the man that shot him ran and got in a black SUV where a driver was waiting for him.
The vehicle was located an hour later but no one was inside. No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation.
