Waste Watcher: A 32oz big gulp for taxpayers
CalTrans Abuses Caught on Camera
With
daily hand-wringing about the state of California’s woeful financial
picture, the following CBS News reports are unbelievable. CalTrans
workers were recently caught (on tape) driving pricey cars and pickup
trucks rented with taxpayer money to buy wine, shop at Nordstrom and hit
the grocery store. These vehicles are costing us hundreds of thousands
of scarce dollars and fly in the face of the Governor’s weak attempt to

BUT … there’s more and it’s even more offensive. CalTrans workers are also caught spending hours at the local hamburger joint drinking beer during the work day. Perhaps if the Governor took the money wasted by CalTrans he wouldn’t be holding our schools hostage for more tax dollars.
