Mi Pueblo Grocery a chain over twenty years now with 21 stores in Northern Ca; Central Valley, Monterrey Bay and San Francisco Bay Area. The retailer is under fire for participating in E-Verify program. The Grocers claim it entered the program only after Federal immigration started an audit of it's current workers immigration Status this year. The founder of the Market group was an illegal Mexican immigrant.
E-Verify is a federal program that checks the immigration status of
prospective workers and has employers check the status of applicants for employment. Said program is voluntary in the State of California.
Latino immigrants are not supporters of the program!
