Womens Boxing Mexico Aug 3 Friday

Originally slated to face Magali Rodriquez (7-4-1, 4 KOs) from Monterrey, Mexico, 3-time women's boxing world champion Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton (11-3-1, 1 KO), will now face Abigail “Pinguita” Ramos (3-3-0, 2 KOs) in a 10-round bout in Kanasin, Yucatan, Mexico this Friday, August 3rd.
The switch was made due to what Julaton's promoter, Orion Sports President, Allan Tremblay said was a case of Rodriguez going M.I.A. “She simply disappeared on us”, said Tremblay. “ She left us hanging a week and half before the fight. Fortunately, we were able to secure Abigail Ramos who was in training for another fight and jumped at the chance to fight Ana. These things happen in boxing and you just have to deal with them," he added.
Despite Ramos' unimpressive record, she is not lacking in motivation as she gets a chance to score a major upset in front of her hometown crowd. “ She is not lacking in confidence” stated Tremblay “ she is coming to win and anything can happen in this sport, just ask Amir Kahn”.

Nicknamed “The Yucatan Princess” for her inspiring performances in the ring and work to spread goodwill in her previous fights, Julaton has no plans to take her new opponent lightly. “This is still a major fight for me,” Julaton said, and added, “Ramos has nothing to lose and will bring it all on the night of August 3 and I have to be prepared accordingly”.
Julaton, who yearns to fight in the Philippines, continued on saying “A loss would derail my long standing dream of fighting in the Philippines in front of my own people and I simply cannot let that happen. Making adjustments for a last minute change of opponent is a challenge in itself but I will be ready.”
