Yuma Hazardous waste collection Saturday

 Hazardous Waste
The city of Yuma is holding a special event Saturday to help you clear your home of hazardous wastes.
The hazardous waste collection event will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. at the North Public Works Yard, 265 W. 13th St. There is no fee to discard hazardous items.
The city encourages all residents to bring any corrosive, flammable, toxic and reactive materials to the event, including motor oil, antifreeze, paint, solvents, household cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, batteries, tires (off the rim), home computer components, TVs, VCRs/DVD players and phones. Commercial waste, large appliances and explosive and radioactive materials will not be accepted.
The collection takes place at one of the city's recycling stations, so residents who have metals, papers and clear plastics to recycle can do so at the same time. The recycling bins are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Another set of bins is located at 45th Avenue and 17th Street.
The next hazardous materials collection date is Oct. 3. For more information, call 373-4500.
