35 Mexican police officers arrested for alleged links to the Zetas by Sergio Chapa
Some 35 state police officers are behind bars south of the border where authorities are accusing them of working for the Zetas drug cartel.
Mexican Navy (SEMAR) officials reported that the arrests took place over the weekend in San Luis and Veracruz.
SEMAR officials reported that Mexican federal prosecutors had identified 35 Veracruz State Police (SSPE) officers as collaborators with the Zetas.
Mexican marines spent the weekend tracking down and arresting the 35 officers on the list.
The officers were presented in Mexico City early Monday morning.
The 31 men and four women are all facing federal charges.
