Department of Public Safety officer Tacna

Roll AZ-  A DPS officer is found dead after facing allegations of continuous sexual abuse and child molestation. Investigators from the Yuma County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at a residence in Yuma County in reference to an ongoing criminal investigation.  They say the residence belonged to Mr. James Howard of Roll.  KSWT has confirmed Howard is a DPS officer.
The investigation started in early August and the Sheriffs Office says it centered around allegations of continuous sexual abuse and child molestation that had occurred 20-25 years ago.  An adult female had reported that she was molested and continuously sexually abused as a child by Mr. Howard.
Investigators report they met with Mr. Howard Wednesday morning and informed him of the allegations and of the pending search warrant.  Mr. Howard was not taken into custody and was released after meeting with the Investigators.
